If you were to ask me, What’s one thing I need to do to find more joy and less overwhelm, I’d say, work on self-realisation.

Why?

Because self-realisation helps you to make life choices that best suit YOU, which ultimately leads to inner peace and happiness.

Trouble is, most of us haven’t learnt how to listen to our hearts and trust our feelings. We’re like sheep, following the herd and never stepping off the track for fear of being different.

But you are different. That’s why you’re here reading this.

You feel a stirring in your heart to LOVE the life you living.  But you don’t feel brave enough to do what’s needed to change things.

Deep down, you know what makes you happy, laugh out loud and feel calm… still, you hardly do them. Instead, you’re forever pleasing others or doing things out of habit.

Most of the time you’ll wake each day, follow the same routine, feeling no different to yesterday, thinking the same thing, If only I could…  but never doing anything about it.

I get it!  I was the same.

If only I could…

  • Keep my desk clear of clutter so my mind is less distracted.
  • Do the dishes and have a clean + clear kitchen before I start my day so I don’t find myself procrastinating in there when writing gets tough.
  • STOP BUYING DARK CHOCOLATE! I just scoff the lot in a day and feel terrible.
  • Get organised on a Sunday and make bliss balls so I stop buying dark chocolate!
  • Stay on top of the washing… a messy laundry stresses me out! (not sure why)
  • Give up drinking coffee so I can go to bed earlier to get up earlier
  • Leave 30 minutes earlier than I think I need to and arrive to places on time.

Getting clear on the things that help me feel calm in my day – like the list above –  and taking action on them, daily or weekly, I feel way more joy and less overwhelm everyday!

Remember, the things I’ve listed are important to me. If you create an ‘if only’ list, make sure you only put things on there that are really important to your happiness.

So, let’s explore self-realisation a little deeper by answering the questions below { you may like to grab a pen and journal to write your answers down}.

  • Is there something you really want to be doing that keeps coming up but you keep ignoring it?
  • What’s something you often think of doing, a life goal you want to reach, but you just can’t find the motivation to do?
  • Do you have a dream?  What is it?
  • If money and time weren’t an issue, what would you do more of?
  • When you think of all your dreams or the goals how many have you achieved?
  • What’s held you back from achieving them all?
  • Where in your life are you out of balance?
  • What could you let go of to achieve your dreams and goals?
  • Where are you sabotaging yourself?

When we ask ourselves these types of questions we’re giving ourselves permission to look within; a place that often holds all the right answers for us.

As an example, I love coffee… coffee doesn’t like me!  When I drink it, my energy levels are out of sync – I’m wired until 11.30pm and I can’t get up in the morning, and that having 1x a day.

Drinking coffee stops me from doing what I’d really love to do, which is sleep for 8 hours, get up early and meditate, write, get the kids ready for school and then go to Yoga.

I love all of the aforementioned more than I love drinking coffee.  So, I gave coffee up.

Was it easy? Nope!

But am I more joyful and less overwhelmed by removing it?  Yes siree!

So, this week place some importance on your own self-realisation.

Try spending sometime thinking about how your life would look if you lived from your heart dreams and achieved your goals.

Before I sign off today, I wanted to let you know that I’m opening up 5 one to one 9 week coaching spaces starting in September. This will be the last time you’ll be to work with me this year.

If you’re feeling stuck and unable to reach your life goals or you’re living in constant overwhelm and you’re feeling time poor, unproductive and filled with self-doubt, having a coach by your side will get you sorted.  And I’d love to hear from you!

PS: DON’T FORGET TO DO THE FOLLOWING THIS WEEK:
